Next Meeting
Saturday 9th June 2007 Saint Barnabas Church Hall Bournmoor.
Time 2.00pm – 5.00pm. (approx.)
Thanks to everyone who took part in the North East Area Group 25th Anniversary Celebration on 12th May.
I have no doubt whatsoever that there will for some time be talk of Henk Oversloot’s DCC diesel shunter, which is an NS version of that most noble of British Railways shunting engines more popularly known as the 08, (with sound as well ……..very interesting..) Henk must get the award for the most travelled member on the day.
For the statisticians the event was the first time we as a group have hosted 10 layouts in the hall. We’ll have to do better than that for our 30th anniversary won’t we? That is, I suppose, one of the main reasons for getting together every couple of months. To inspire and enthuse by seeing what other people are doing and go away all fired up to build that supreme layout of which you will be justly proud. Well that’s what Bob has set out to do – but of course there’s the 9F and the K1 and B1 and the Black 5 and the………………………!
Our next meeting on the 9th will see us reverting to more normal matters of wagon construction. Andy Hanson who took the John Barker Trophy at the AGM in Shildon for his wagon entry will be talking us through some of his techniques and showing us the results at close quarters. So, if wagons are your interest (or part of your interest) then don’t miss this one either.
Please note the new 'blog' links on this site to the Oxford Area Group and the Darkest Essex Area Group. Hope to see you all on the 9th
